Alan L. Sylvester, CPM® is a principal of Lockhart Management & Consulting, LLC in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Lockhart Management & Consulting is responsible for the management and leasing of multi-family and commercial properties in Southwest and West Michigan.
Sylvester has more than 30 years’ experience managing, leasing, and directing operations for partnerships, individual owners, and institutions. From 1980 until 1994 he was Director of Property Management for Robert Britigan & Company, an Accredited Management Company based in Kalamazoo. In this capacity, he was responsible for management, leasing and operations for a portfolio of approximately 2,000 units of multi-family property.
As a principal of Lockhart Management & Consulting he is responsible for all aspects of management, leasing and client services for a portfolio valued in excess of $35 million in more than 1,000 units of multi-family housing and 55,000 square feet of commercial space. The firm specializes in the management of affordable housing properties as well as conventional apartment and commercial buildings.
Sylvester and Lockhart Management & Consulting are members of the National Apartment Association, the Property Management Association, and the Institute of Real Estate Management. He served as President of the West Michigan Chapter and in a number of capacities with each organization. Since 1986, he has been a Certified Property Manager and is responsible for maintaining the Accredited Management Organization designation for Lockhart Management & Consulting. The firm most recently completed its reaccreditation in 2021.
